  • Sequencing and ordering numbers up to 100
  • Using and applying mathematical language such as, equal to, more than, less than, (fewer), most and least
  • Counting in multiples of twos, fives and tens

Our topic for this half term is ‘Magic’ and we are reading the story of Room on the Broom for our focused text.

In English we are:

  • Hot seating and role play
  • SPAG (Spelling, punctuation and grammar) focusing on adjectives
  • Enjoying sharing and joining in activities based around the story Room on the Broom

Please remember

  • Put your child’s name on everything!
  • Healthy snacks only – fruit or yoghurt tubes.  No cereal bars please.
  • Please ensure that all water bottles only contain water.
  • If your child does not have milk at school they may bring milk from home. No milkshake or flavoured milk.
  • Please put some spare clothes, underwear, trousers, socks in their PE bag.
  • Line up outside the classroom at home time when picking up your child.  It makes it safer and less stressful for everyone, especially your child. Please be patient whilst the children are being dismissed. Teachers will dismiss 3 children at a time.

Starting this Week!

From this week each child will be taking a reading book home. Please can you read with your child and write a comment in your child’s reading record. Homework will be given on a weekly basis.

Parents meeting for Year 1 will be on 27th September in the KS1 school hall at 2.30.

On Thursday 28th September there is an opportunity to meet your child’s class teacher to discuss any issues, worries or achievements. If you have any questions, please ask your child’s class teacher.

Thank you again for your support and let’s look forward to a happy and successful year!
