SEND

At Oak Primary School, we are committed to enabling all pupils to access the curriculum regardless of any barriers or starting point. Every teacher at Oak CE Primary is a teacher of pupils with additional needs and disabilities and we provide an inclusive and welcoming environment.

We recognise that at some point during a pupil’s time at Oak CE Primary, they may need additional support or intervention, and regardless of the length of time or type of need we will do all we can to support and meet their needs.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Leader is Mr R Townsend who coordinates and leads provision across the whole of our school. If you have any questions about your child’s needs, in the first instance please speak to your child’s class teacher and they can request further support and advice.

SEND Report 2023

Do you have a child with a disability who you would like to attend nursery? We offer Free Early Education and care (FEEC) for 3 and 4 year olds who qualify for Kirklees Council’s Disability Access Funding (DAF). A lump sum payment of £650 is available each financial year (1 April to 31 March) to providers who have eligible funded children in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA). This additional money could make a difference to your child’s education.

If you wish to apply to the Disability Access Fund, please download the form below. Any questions, please contact the office.
